Title: Labor Relations Manager
Hillsborough County is seeking a dedicated, seasoned labor relations professional to join its team as a Labor Relations Manager. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and demonstrate a minimum of 3 years work experience in labor relations in a unionized environment. Excellent oral and written communication as well as interpersonal and presentation skills are required as well as competence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations or Human Resources is a plus. Experience drafting labor agreements, participating in labor negotiations, administering collective bargaining agreements, and participating in mediations is preferred.
The Labor Relations Administrator provides consistent implementation of the Company’s labor policies and collective bargaining agreements and ensures that personnel act in accordance with federal, state and city law for labor stability. He or she may represent the Company at arbitrations and unemployment hearings, administer various bargaining unit related programs, perform studies and benchmarking, provide advice and counsel on collective bargaining agreements and train employees in the proper application and implementation of federal, state, city and contractual law. This position involves extensive contact with all levels of management, as well as union officials for the purposes of problem and issue resolution, training and negotiating. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and government regulations.
