The City of Gainesville/Gainesville is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Assistant Director who is innovative and forward thinking that will embrace the organization's citizen centered vision.

This highly qualified, progressive and proactive individual will support a customer centric culture and assist in leading value creation through the development and implementation of cutting edge human resources practices. The ideal candidate will have proven success in managing and directing activities in multiple human resources disciplines including administration, compensation, learning and organizational development and talent acquisition; configuring, implementing and administering human resources systems; and must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will: be creative and an agent for change; perform managerial and administrative work directing the activities and programs of the Human Resources department's Divisions; oversee the implementation of Human Resources Management Information Systems (HRMIS); and deploy and sustain the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) roadmap in support of the City's long term objectives.

To be considered for this position must possess: a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Public Administration, Industrial-Organizational Psychology related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible management or supervisory experience in the human resources field;

or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

A Master's degree in Human Resources, public sector management experience in local government and/or municipal utilities and municipal experience with labor unions is preferred.

NOTES: •Salary will be determined based on qualifications and the desired attributes sought by the City but is not expected to exceed market, or $104,327.
•Prior experience managing the Human Resources function and teams is required.
•Prior experience configuring, implementing and overseeing Human Resources systems (HRIS) is required.
•Public sector management experience in local government and/or municipal utilities is preferred.
•Municipal experience with labor unions is preferred.
•Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), from the Human Resources Certification Institute or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), from the Society for Human Resource Management is highly preferred.
•Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), from World at Work is highly preferred.
•Valid driver license required. Valid Florida Driver License required within thirty (30) days of appointment.
•May fill multiple positions, may underfill and/or establish an eligibility list.
